God Made Him This Way? -by Tony Warren
Deuteronomy 24:16
In God's system of justice, we are only guilty for what we do. Therefore, it is futile to try and blame God for your own sin. Carnal man in imagines that God is defined as he sees fit, and so will not judge him. This god that they worship is only love. But in truth, God is a God of Love and compassion, but He is also a God of wrath and judgment! Ignoring one aspect of God is just as bad as ignoring the other! In the world today we hear this sadness and rebellion in the voice of many unbelievers. It is a sadness which is usually liberally laced with anger. We readily recognize this anger in the things which are said, but careful observation shows that this anger is not directed so much at themselves, as it is towards God. We most often hear things like, "If there is a God, why are children abused, or why is there wars, or why is there so much suffering in the world?" Humanistic logic or carnal thinking being that if there really was a God, He would certainly not allow this. But what these people don't realize is that they are attempting to make a god of their own designing, fashioned after whatever they think is best for Him to be doing. This is the height of man's arrogance and pride. Simply typical in creating in his mind an image of god after the image of himself. Frankly, it's a attempt to create a god instead of accepting the God revealed in the Bible. They have missed the point that man was created in the image of God, not the other way around. It is God who defines who He is, not angry man. It is folly for us to say, "this is how we think God should be." God is who He is, and is certainly not subject to man! Just the opposite, man is subject to God. But in our day there seems to be a concerted effort to turn that around. God doesn't have to conform to man's image of who he thinks God should be, Man has to conform to God and how God thinks man should be! Questions like, "..why did God put me here if He's going to send me to Hell," is the arrogant rebellion in man's heart which is what is really sending him to Hell. Man's self centered rebellion and refusal to obey God is what is sending him to Hell! We are judged only for our own sin, not for anyone else's. God is the Creator of heaven and earth, Holy, True, and Trustworthy. It is utterly foolish for Man to question God as if He were a suspect of some wrong doing. That's like a criminal saying to a Righteous judge, "Sure I am a criminal, and I know better, but that's the way I was born, I like being a criminal, but I don't deserve to be punished for it, I really should be free to do what I want!" ..Shall the righteous Judge agree and set him free? Shall he say to the man, "You're right, you didn't ask to be born, and so you're not responsible for your criminal activity?" God Forbid! That would not be righteous judgment, that would be unrighteous judgment. In our day unrighteous judgment masquerades as compassion, but God is not mocked. It's not God who is unrighteous in His judgments, it is man! It's not God who is causing all the sufferings in this world, it is man! Man is wicked and rebellious and desires to do whatever his imagination can conjure up, and then he tries to blame God for this saying, "why am I judged because I did it?" He wants to argue with God saying, You made me thus, so why am I judged? The word of God declares: Romans 9:20
Who is unrighteous man to talk back to righteous God? That's a good question. And the answer is, nobody! We are nobody to be replying against God. And until we finally realize that, we have no chance of escaping the judgment. Salvation begins at that point. It's the realization that you can do nothing to escape the punishment that you deserve, but throw yourself upon the Mercies of God that He will have compassion on you. Not unrighteous compassion, but righteous compassion in "legal payment of all debts". In Christ is our redemption befitting all that has mourned his unrighteousness, and confessed his crimes, and turned away from them in repentance. He has promised it, and He cannot lie. He will abundantly "pardon" you through the atonement of Christ who has paid the penalty for your crimes with His blood. This is His Gift to us. Ask, and it shall be given unto you. If you don't ask for it, then why complain when you don't get it? If you are too proud to humble yourself and beg forgiveness of God for your crimes against Him, then why grumble when you don't get forgiveness of sins? In God's judgment, you're getting no more than you deserve (whether you believe that or not). Remember that the Lord Resisteth the proud, but giveth Grace to the Humble (James 4:6-7). We have the promise that if we confess our guiltiness, get down on our knees (i.e., humble Ourselves) and say, "Lord Forgive me, a miserable rotten sinner," the Lord is faithful and just to answer our prayers! Anyone who transgresses God's laws are subject to standing before the judge. Just as in this world. But unlike man's judgments, God's judgments are just and faithful and righteous! So the question is not, "Why should I be punished when God made me this way," the question is, "God has made the faithful promise of forgiveness to everyone that seeks Him, so why don't I receive it?" That's the question for each and every person who reads this message. And if you answer that question with, "because I don't want to", or "Because I don't like God's ways," then your sins and the judgment thereof, be upon you. Because it is indeed a truism that the Grace of God sends no one to Hell, but Saves a multitude from it! In other words, We are saved by Grace, but condemned for our sins. If you don't want God, and revile and speak against Him as if He is doing something wrong, then don't complain when you don't receive Him! For it is you who reject the God of the Bible, and "thus" have no pardon for your sins. Therefore, don't blame God, blame yourself. God is not God in order to carry out your wishes or follow your ideas of how you think He should work, or who He should save, or when He should have compassion. God knows the heart of man, you don't. It's not about the will of man, it's all about the Will of God. The Kingdom of God "is" a Kingdom, not a democracy! God Rules. His Word is the law. As sovereign creator, the potter making vessels of clay to His Glory, He has rule over them. We are His humble servants, not His moral advisers.
